Most people love fried foods, and who can blame them? Fried foods are hot and crispy, full of taste, and the frying process really helps to lock moisture inside. That said, of course, deep fried foods are about as unhealthy as any food can be.
For anybody who wants the taste and texture of fried food, but without the inbound heart attack, a good thing to look into is an artery-friendly air fryer. Today we are here to review one such air fryer, the NuWave Brio 6 Quart Digital Air Fryer.
NuWave Brio 6 Quart Digital Air Fryer
The NuWave Brio 6 Quart Digital Air Fryer is a relatively inexpensive or moderately priced air fryer.
The defining feature of any air fryer is that it allows for fried foods to be made without needing so much unhealthy oil. This particular model is great for small and medium serving sizes, it looks nice, it’s compact, and quite affordable.
Who is this product for?
The NuWave Brio 6 Quart Digital Air Fryer is of course an air fryer, which means that it uses barely any oil to fry foods.
Therefore, this fryer is ideal for anybody who wants to eat foods with that delicious crispy texture and that fried taste, but don’t want to ingest all the heart-clogging oil that you’d normally use to fry foods.
It’s a nice little home air fryer that is ideal for single people and small families who want to make a load of relatively healthy fries, chicken wings, or anything else of the sort. It’s all about eating delicious fried foods without all the oil.
Something to keep in mind is that the basic package comes with only the air fryer. However, chances are that you might want a few accessories. If this is the case, you can go for the more expensive bundle which includes various accessories.
The accessories include a series of frying baskets, grates, and a nice recipe book. Keep in mind that the fryer itself is a 6-quart fryer, which is a good size to make a load of fries or something similar for a few people.
Overview of features
The NuWave Brio 6 Quart Digital Air Fryer has a good number of features worth mentioning. As you probably know by now, it’s a 6 quart fryer, so it doesn’t have a huge capacity, but it’s not tiny either.
We would say it’s ideal for making a few portions of fries, wings, onion rings, or anything else of the sort. What is however very convenient about this fryer is that it is quite compact, making it ideal for small kitchens and countertops with limited space. On a side note, the retractable power cord is a great feature.
Something else which stands out about the NuWave Brio 6 Quart Digital Air Fryer is how it has a digital interface which is extremely user-friendly and very easy to navigate. It comes complete with timers and temperature controls, and even temperature and cooking time guidelines for various popular fried foods.
The temperature can be controlled from 100° to 390°, via 5 pre-set temperature settings, and yes, the timer helps if you happen to be a forgetful person. The temperature control is quite accurate, and the NuWave Brio 6 Quart Digital Air Fryer is good enough to maintain temperatures even when relatively full.
We do have to say that it’s not the best air fryer in the world, and it does take a bit to get hot, not to mention that it’s not exactly the most durable product either.
- Very easy to use
- Can fry, broil, bake, and roast
- Accurate temperature control
- Large enough for a few portions
- Small enough for easy storage
- Takes a while to heat up
If you want something even smaller and more affordable, a good alternative to check out would be the PowerXL Power AirFryer. On the other hand, if you want something larger with more features, and are willing to spend a bit more, something like the Philips Premium Digital Airfryer might be right up your alley.
The bottom line is that air fryers are much healthier than standard deep fryers, and the results are nearly identical, which means you can enjoy fried foods without feeling guilty about all of that oil you just ate.
We would recommend something like the NuWave Brio 6 Quart Digital Air Fryer. It’s basic, it’s affordable, and it gets the job done.
